About Skillsology

About

Skillsology exists to help adults build the language, skills and confidence they need to progress in real life and real work. We work with training providers, employers and partner organisations to deliver ESOL, Functional Skills and employability pathways that are structured, practical and measurable.

Why we exist

Too many learners are placed on programmes that don’t match their level, goals or readiness. Outcomes suffer, delivery becomes firefighting, and employers lose confidence.

We design programmes that respect adult learners, reduce confusion, and make progress visible. That means clearer expectations, practical language, and routines that build confidence fast.

Skillsology training and workplace learning

What we deliver

  • ESOL for Work – workplace-first communication, safety language and everyday job routines.
  • Functional Skills English – reading, writing, speaking and listening for work and life, with assessment confidence.
  • Employability – CVs, applications, interview practice, and the behaviours employers expect.
  • Business Development – professional capability, communication and delivery standards for teams and leaders.

Who we help

Providers: improve attendance, retention and outcomes with the right structure and learner readiness.

Employers: strengthen communication, confidence and performance in the workplace.

Learners: build real capability and independence, not “classroom-only” English.

What makes us different

  • Adult-first: respectful, accessible learning for mixed levels and backgrounds.
  • Practical: real-life tasks, real workplace language, real outcomes.
  • Structured: clear routines that reduce anxiety and improve confidence quickly.
  • Outcome-led: progress you can evidence, not vague training claims.

How delivery works

  1. Discovery: goals, cohort profile, delivery constraints and success measures.
  2. Programme design: level pathways, practical contexts, measurable milestones.
  3. Delivery: online or in-person, fixed starts or rolling cohorts.
  4. Reporting: attendance trends, progression markers and next-step recommendations.

Our approach

We teach the language and skills people need to succeed in real contexts, not classroom theatre. Sessions are structured, accessible and designed for mixed levels and diverse backgrounds.

What we value

Empower: build confidence through real capability.
Enlighten: make learning clear and achievable.
Enhance: improve outcomes you can evidence.
